Welcome to Lala19357's Music Festival, an adaptation of the popular music festival-type setup. I propose this not so much as a challenge, but more as a way to get direct interaction from musicians who specialize in a specific area of music production.
Important Project Information (Updated Regularly)
Project Launch: 5/12/2011
To-do List:
[X] *Judge Registration
[ ] *Set Deadlines
[X] Participant Registration [6 participants accounted for at 7:09 PM on 5/15/11]
[ ] *Entry Submission
[ ] Assign Judges to Entries
[ ] Judging
[ ] Announcing of Results of Judging
[ ] Distribution of Scores
[ ] Project Close
UPDATE AS OF 5/15/2011:
5 people have joined the Festival, so I can now proceed with deadline setting.
Keep in mind that I still need a minimum of 3 additional judges for this event. Please PM me if you are interested, so I am not the only one judging. Please note that more people may still participate!
Number of judges (besides myself) currently registered: 3
Amount of entries currently allowed per person: 1
Currently registered participants: DoubleJoeSeven, SuperiorLarxene, Hunter, almightyarceus, tobinus, WherewolfTherewolf.
IMPORTANT: Once you have registered, please start working on your entries. I will accept entries whenever you have completed them.
* Items with the asterisk are currently in progress
Obviously this will involve cooperation with many people, so I will need as much help as I can get with this. Volunteers are needed desperately, so if you are interested at all, please shoot me a PM. Please do not reply here, as part of the setup is the fact that the judges are unknown until after judging is complete.
Well, what if you don't want to judge? Obviously we need participants, and as many as possible!
To the Participant:
If you are wanting to participate, great! Your challenge is to make and submit a piece of music (Original Compositions and Remixes are accepted) by the contest deadline. The music does not have to be video game-related. In fact, the song can pretty much be of any genre or type, as long as the material is yours. However, the song that is submitted must be made specifically for this contest. See below for additional rules
To the Judge:
If you want to be a judge, PM me about the details. I only have room for 4 judges at the maximum, myself being a judge as well. Keep in mind that if you are a judge, you may still participate, but you cannot obviously judge your own work. Judges have the responsibility of rating the overall quality of the submitted entry or entries that they are assigned. Pieces will be rated on a 1-5 scale, 1 being the highest score possible. Judges must also provide tips for improvement of the piece regardless of the score that they awarded. Pieces may only be judged once. Note that judges will be expected to provide a thorough explanation of how they came to the score that they awarded. To assist in that effort and assure equality of judging, I may issue a rubric (loose enough to allow for individual input) that would serve as the guideline I am asking for. Each entry will have 2 judges assigned to them. More details will be given if you are accepted as a judge.

Have fun with this guys! PM me if you have questions.

Entry Information
- Entering this consists of 2 parts. First, you must declare that you are entering the contest by posting a response to this thread. You do NOT need to have your piece done when you register. The second part of the entry is the submission of your song to the Festival.
- Entries must be submitted in a personal message here on PZ to me, Lala19357. My registered username to PM the entry to is "umbrazephyr", not Lala19357.
- Please include the length of your piece as well as the title.
- Entries may be uploaded to YouTube if you wish, or uploaded to an MP3 sharing site. Popular sites include Tindeck and Box.net, and as long as a URL is provided, any other sharing site is acceptable.
- Only Original Compositions and Remixes are accepted. Please do not submit a song that has already been publicly released. However, if you have not shown the piece to another person, it may be submitted to this Festival.
- Deadlines will be updated and placed at the top of this post. I will give rather long deadlines, but no entries will be taken after the deadlines, NO EXCEPTIONS. However, this does not mean that deadlines cannot be extended.
- This project needs at least 5 entries, and I will not start with judging until I have at least that many entries. Let's get this going!
- Note that your work will be judged by 2 judges and shown to all of them, so please do your best in your entry.
- You may enter as many pieces as I state in the limit above. This number depends on the number of judges that are available to judge.
Have fun with this guys! PM me if you have questions.
