So it seems that we're starting a new massive collar project, as opposed to rebooting the RBY one (which is probably good, that was long dead). Propose and discuss your own and others' ideas in this thread. Once we've got a general sense of what the most wanted projects are, we'll do the vote from there, based on those.
First off, there are obviously all of the main series games. We could go GSC, RSE, DPP, BW, or even RBY again. Many of these will probably be the most popular choices, but if we can, it's still good to rule things out, and whittle down the options come time to vote. Interestingly, Bulbapedia considers Colosseum/XD to be part of the Gen. III main series. So we could also do a Colosseum or XD album. Or one with songs from both games, since many locations and tracks are the same.
Then we've got OSTs from spin-offs. PMD1, PMD2, the Ranger series, Pokémon Trozei, Pokémon Pinball, and the Pokémon TCG video game. I left out Puzzle League/Challenge because those are remixes of Johto/anime themes, but if people want to remix remixes, that's fine, too.
So I don't think I'm missing anything, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Thoughts? ideas? discuss.
In my opinion, doing a RSE one would be pretty cool. It seems to me like that generation is overlooked a lot on this forum. But then again, so is Sinnoh. But I also don't like Sinnoh too much. I would also love to do an Orre album or a TCG song album. Underrated awesome music is underrated and awesome.

I voted for RSE before you locked the topic. The fact is that people don't think the RBY remixes sound good anymore. I think so too because I've improved a bit.
About spin-offs, I'd vote for PMD 1 or 2. The second one has way more songs, though.

True. There's always just starting the RBY project over again, but I don't think anybody wants to do that. PMD2 has more songs, but keep in mind that we're not going to be remixing the entire OST this time. Just a good number of songs.

If we had to vote on a game, I'd rather D/P.....so many underrated tracks in there I have absolutely no idea why people hate on D/P instead of R/B/Y D:! But anything that's decided is also cool

I kinda think that we should do one of the core games first, and then do a spinoff as a follow-up project, just so it's kinda fair to the main series. xP
But anyway, I'd vote for B/W because its soundtrack is really varied compared to the other core games, though R/S/E wouldn't be bad to do either.

Ummm, I'm gonna go ask Larx or some other mod to unlock the previous topic because this is pretty useless until we actually move onto the spin-offs.

It's not useless. If the general consensus is to do a specific OST from a spin-off, then that's what we'll do. You topic left out a ton of options that are totally considerable.

To avoid a Spin-off vs Main Series debate, how bout we just do an entire Generation (excluding remakes).
70% of remixers could work on the Main RSE (if we do G3 that is) tracks, while a small remaining group works on the Spin-offs .
But oh, another suggestion. Whatever generation or game we do, there should be A LOT more collabs. Don't get me wrong, working solo is cool and all, but IMO, from what I've seen online, collabs really bring out the best in songs.
On a related note, collaboration should be mandatory for the REALLY major tracks, like the Trainer Battle, Gym Leader Battle, Starting Town and E4/Champ battle. It'd be a little unfair if only one person got to work on those really popular tracks.

It'd be a little unfair if only one person got to work on those really popular tracks. But then that's not fair at all for people who like working alone. Just because someone doesn't want to do collabs, they shouldn't have to be limited to lesser-known stuff. :/

It's also not fair to the 2-3 collaborators who all really want to do a specific theme when one person working solo nabs it first. There's always going to be unfairness. Although I have to agree that mandatory collars are a big no-no.

Well we already tried a main game OST and that hasn't seemed to go anywhere, everyone lost interest
So why not try a spinoff to throw in some variety before maybe returning to an OST?
Maybe a mystery dungeon game, I know the music isn't always at the same level of quality of that of the main series (at least from the first one it had a few really good tracks, and quite a lot of "meeh" tracks) but it's a different type of music and that'd throw in some more variety to the mix.
