Kinda funny that the first one to win noms is the one running the thing XD Anyway, you know the drill. Strengths, weaknesses, nominations, suggestions, etc. Since we're starting over again, there haven't been any past reviews in this version of RtC. This time around, I'm not going to require it, but I'm going to see how it goes. I suggest that everyone try using my /40 system at least once. Doesn't have to be now, but just sometime over the course of RtC. (For those who needed reminding, such as myself, the /40 system is /10 in each of the following: Composition, instrumentation, Sound Quality, Enjoyability.) Current Nominations: YannickJohnson: 5 Flameheadshero: 4 XtremeThomas: 4 hnturs12: 4 DoubleJoe7: 2 SuperiorLarxene: 2 AlmightyArceus: 1 TheGuitahHeroe: 1 PokéRemixStudio: 1 Tobinus: 1 Lala: 1 This week on the stands: Pokemoneinstein!4040 i doant ned an raesin beacuiz he as de beest remuxer EVAN!!!!!!!

I will return shortly with a review for you.
On another note: It would seem you've misspelled my username (YannickJason) ---- Now for my review. PE, you have to be one of my favourites when it comes to orchestrated music. I really love your work! (Favourite: Rocket Castle Wolf'n'Stein [Team Rocket Hideout Remix]) You have a good sense of what instruments should be used in a song. Composition: This one is pretty straight forward. I give it a 6/10 Generally, it's the same composition as the original artist. Not much else to say. However when there is a change, it really brings out your creativity. Instrumentation: 7/10! From all that I've heard from you, you often do remasters of songs that play in existing games. That's a good thing, but try and do more than just "find higher quality samples." Sound Quality: To my standards, you have just about the best EQ sense I've heard in a long time. I am proud to give you this (as my highest ranking ever. I don't give a prefect score.) 9/10!Enjoyability: This one ties in with instrumentation for me really. But I give you a decent 7/10 for this one too. I like to come by and listen to your songs as I draw. They are very soothing and good on the ears. You know where you want to to go with a song and the direction in which you want it to go. To summarize: Great sense of music knowledge; try to find other ways of showing off your more creative side!Overall score: 29/40; none too shabby! Also, nominations! Composition:uh wut is dis i don't even ?/10 (should there be a general info thread where I can find descriptions of the criteria? O:) Instrumentation:Awesome, often orchestral perfection, and your g/s/c rival encounter sounded really cool too even though it wasn't your typical style, 10/10 Sound quality:Really crisp and clean sounding stuff 10/10 Enjoyability:Pretty awesome stuff, although it's not the kinda genre I would put on my ipod, it's still really catchy and slick. I would like to see you keep on doing stuff outside of your usual stuff though, like the Lucky Channel or the Rival Encounter from your GSC project, those were really cool ! 9/10 Total 29+/40? stfu, foh, i didn't forget my noms wat r u talking bout i can remember silly things like that +2 Dasgust +1 DoubleJoe +1 EndureRibbon +1 TGH

That would actually be 29/30, since you only did 3 categories. Because to be honest, I don't remember the specific differences between some of them, particularly the exact one you had trouble with XD
Be sure to rate'n'nate, people! (cwutididthar) Only got a few more days!

Composition: 7/10 - Although you don't use MIDIs (from what I know) Most of your music sounds the same at times. Instrumentation: 6.5/10 - Same as the one above, I hear the same bunch of instruments in every song. Since you own most of the jam packs, why not use some other instruments? There are tons of strings, you know. Also try creating your own instruments in Garageband. Sound Quality: 8/10 - (Found out what it meant.) Improvement is much needed. (Stated how above and below) Enjoyability: 6/10 - As Zach said above, your music isn't the kind I would download or put onto meh iPod (Yoko takes up 40% of it already. ) I suggest branching out into other genres at some point of time. Final Score: 27.5/40 EDIT: Not in the funk of this yet. NOM: Chrissy! (Lala) - 5

Composition: 8/10- I agree that you could change up the structure of your remixes to be more unique from the source material. However, lately, you seem to have been going in that direction anyway. Don't be hesitant to go off on a tangent in a remix (as long as it's going somewhere) and make something new out of it.
Instrumentation: 9/10- You're very good at this. I can tell that when you want a certain feeling within a song, you are very good at creating the right ensemble to pull it off. I never listen to your pieces and think, "I don't like these instruments" or "This instrument would probably be much better here instead." I still really enjoy the choice you made on G/S/C Viridian Forest, on of my favorite remixes of yours.
Sound Quality: 9/10- Everything sounds great here. Nothing really wrong here, but hey, there's always room for improvement.
Enjoyability: 8/10- You make great work, but I think my one problem with your work is that a lot of your remixes are very short. I think if you made them longer you'd basically be forced to expand upon the themes of the piece to make it stay interesting which is good. I think you're missing out by having short pieces and by adding more content and variation, the enjoyability will go up immensely.
34/40!
People, you're forgetting to nominate others:

Lesse... my first review. -3- *blatantly copies Yannick's formatting shamefully without credit*Composition: 7/10. Most of the time I don't really see any difference to be honest. I'm not implying you just take a MIDI and slap remix instruments on, but I feel you should try getting a little more creative. Instrumentation: 7/10. I know Garageband and it often has its instrument limitations, but you have Jam Packs; try adding more variety; a good chunk of the time it's just higher quality instruments. (not all the time. lol) Maybe try more techno remixes. x] Sound Quality: 8/10! I don't know if it's just my speaker being low quality with me after it nearly got wrecked by one of Yannick's remixes (LOL), but occasionally the sound feels slightly off. I won't let that change my view on this score because I'm not sure if the speakers are messing with me or it's you, so other than that; your EQ skills are epic. So keep it up! :3 Enjoyability: 8/10. Your songs are often very calm or soothing. While to be honest, your songs aren't really the type to be on my cellphone to listen time to time (and besides, the memory is full anyway. lol), I really enjoy the music. You capture the style you want to portray to us very well. :3 tl;dr: Great music, but I'd prefer a little more variety. Final Score: 30/40Okey, now to nom noms. [/crappypun]hnturs12 - +2 Yannick - +2 Me - +1 (can't resist. o3o)

This sounds like you've only been listening to my crappy MIDI remasters I've uploaded in the last few days. Have you listened to PR3?

This sounds like you've only been listening to my crappy MIDI remasters I've uploaded in the last few days. Have you listened to PR3? I've listened to a lot of your old songs, don't worry. I didn't take the crappy remasters into account really. x] BTW, as simple it may be, I really love the SS Anne remix. <3

ALRIGHTY STEINY! LETS GET IN A REVIEW! Composition: 6/10 - This is because from what I usually hear, it is very close to the source material. I know you aren't like full into the whole like solo thing or whatever but I would like to hear a bit more creativity from the songs you create! I know you have a bunch of musical talent, and I think it would be awesome if you showcased that more in your compositions! Arrangement: 8/10 - You are spectacular arranger, and the EQ of all your works is exceptional, especially for Garageband. There are a few things I would tweak though, the first and foremost being ...you guessed it, more samples! I know you have Jam Packs and stuff, but just that alone doesn't suffice. Mess around more with the AU effect tabs and such and manually implement what you want to hear; I know you can get a lot better quality out of that. Sound Quality: 9/10 - Clean, crisp, no blips, etc. Good job Enjoyability: 7/10 - This is coming from my ear, which is accustomed to hearing solos etc in jazz band as well as from other remixers. I enjoy listening to your remixes, but what would really make me enjoy them is that spark of creativity you get from improv and solos, and parting ways with the source material. Do you make OCs? Because I don't entirely remember you ever doing one.....*goes to check*...as far as I can see, you have not released an OC. That is the ultimate sense of expression in a composer, and I would love to hear one come out of such a talented mixer like you! My main point of this entire review: creativity is gold Final score: 30/40 Om Nom Noms: +1 TGH + 2 SW +2 Das
