True enough. And as a supplement to that, I just realized, I've only nominated myself between 4 and 9 times. Much lower than I thought. Anyway, I don't really know if I was trying to make a point with that, but whatever. I was just looking at the raw numbers - 4 nominations less, and Hunter would be rated this week. I didn't mean to be bad or anything - I'm completely fine with people nominating themself. In fact, I've nominated myself too I'll come back with a full review later, when I'm on my computer (I'm on my Android right now). Lala19357: You're welcome, I'm a fan of the Wiki way of thinking: if I see a problem, I would fix it myself rather than pointing it out Probably because I'm an admin at my school's website, which is a wiki ;D Unfortunalately, I'm not a staff member here, so I can't edit everything in. But I'm perfectly fine with being a member, don't get me wrong ^^
To me, You shouldn't be in first place. You vote for yourself, and rarely change the style of music you make. If I am wrong, show me AT LEAST 10 songs that you've made that AREN'T 8-bit.
Check the first ten remixes on his channel....and more. He's not strictly 8-bit, not in the least.

Alright, now to the review: 78% Man, a few people are being way too harsh...0%?!? PLEASE! That should be reserved for someone who doesn't have any idea about music. I mean come on; no one on this forum has remixes that bad. Strengths: I really like your orchestral mixes. While they may not branch out as much, they sound good and have a consistent sound; everything falls into place nicely. Not many people can pull of good orchestral remixes, so I praise you for this. Weaknesses: The first thing I notice is the weakness in the sounds of a lot of your instruments, and the lack of diversity in them. I suggest you use some different soundfonts, or try branching out by using more instrumental sounds on whatever program you use. Also try searching for more instruments online, or get them from other people. -More importantly, add more of a creative spark to your music! Most of your arrangements sound like you took the raw MIDI and added soundfonts to it, many of them not really being sufficient in sound (in example, your "enhanced versions" of songs are exactly that, with little actual volume, choral/notation/whatever enhancements.) Try added bigger instruments, as well as some creative elements. For example, add a choral/epic intro, change keys within the remix, add a solo/improv section, expand your percussion use/syncronize, etc. That way, the song becomes more enjoyable to listen to, and captures the listener more. You can also more thoroughly exhibit your musical prowess this way. Om nom noms: +1 hnturs12 +3 REGlROCK +1 MeanGreenLuigi

86% Your orchestral songs are great, but you really need to have variety in your songs. Try different genres and make original compositions and I'll probably give you more than 90%! //I already nomnom'd.

Larxie: Very fair point, thank you
Pokeneon: I have 45 remixes uploaded not including PR3, and two of them are 8-bit. You've got to be thinking of someone else. And yes, I have nominated myself, but never voted. I voted for tobinus twice on SotW Round 1 (Once for the initial vote and once for tiebreaker) and I didn't vote on the other one. I don't know who on Earth you're thinking of, but it's certainly not me.
Almightyarceus: I think that's fair as well. thank you. I'm pretty sure I know what you mean.
Dasgust: Thanks. And in case your haven't heard, I've done rock (Bad Boss Grunge, Rival Battle RBY, Glam Rock de Chocobo), Jazz (Bob-Omb Battlefield) Techno (Mario's Pad and a few others, but those are from when I started out and they're pretty bad). I've also got quite a few WIPs in various genres, like ragtime, more techno songs, swing, etc. But I stopped each for some reason, none of which I can remember XD. So who knows where those will be going?
And for all of you, Thanks. Though Larx, and those who it may interest, please listen to Bob-Omb Battlefield and WIld Pokémon Battle medley again. Both have variety in the song, and I'm not sure which type of variety you mean. The Battle Medley has lots of "voice," as flameheadshero put it, changes throughout the piece, both during each specific song as well as through the different songs. Bob-Omb Battlefield, however, has a calm interlude that I find very nice. I would just like to know what type of variety you mean.

Yes, I've heard your non-orchestral work as well. Just make more of it and try genres you haven't tried yet.

"It's not about who votes for you, It's the review that matters" I don't quite understand. Are you talking about SotW? In that case, there's no review. Or are you talking about RtC, in which case there's no voting. Could you please clarify?
"I don't like your work and yourself as a person." "You vote for yourself, which makes you selfish" I hope you realize you're being incredibly rude. And again, I don't vote for myself. I voted for tobinus both in the original round and in the tiebreaker, and I didn't vote in the second tiebreaker.

71% I won't do the "Strengths/Weaknesses" stuff this time around - instead, I'll write a little about what I think you can do in order to improve! When I went to your most recent video in order to listen to a bit of what you've maid, I read the following in the description: I think this pretty much is the reason a few people complain your melodies are a bit "meh". My first impression, was that you had used a MIDI, and put it into a soundfont. We listeners will spend more time on listening to your music if you spend more effort creating it - or rather whether it sounds like you put more effort in there or not. It's what we hear that matters, so I might be completely wrong when it comes to the amount of effort you put in. I've noticed that this is true especially for your older videos, which most people are referring to (it seems). Your newer videos seems to be better when it comes to the effort. When it comes to variety, I agree with the others here. Variation is the key to not getting bored, and you're supposed to have fun while composing Another thing I've noticed is the mixing. You could improve the way instruments are mixed together in terms of volume and velocity. In your only OC, one of the instruments played a bit higher in volume than what felt natural. Okay, last but not least: When I listen to your music, it doesn't sound like you're trying to achieve anything. I'm not talking about pure effort here. I'm talking about bringing a message out. I'm pretty sure you've heard about Junichi Masuda, and this quote from this blog is - to me at least - pure gold. This inspired me to do the fanmade Legendary music, and made the Route 1 theme and the Champions theme incredible epic. Read it all here - you're recommended to do so!Of course, you have to keep a balance between getting a message out, and making the music sound interesting (or cool). I really hope this helps! ~tobinus ;D EDIT: Changed the rating, and wording in one of the latest paragraphs. Not to mention noms: +1 pokeneon7 +1 Dasgust +1 Sonicwave1000 +1 xxsenyweeny..? I gave myself 9 nominations in total. Which yes, I agree is a bit unfair, but I was very eager to hear what people thought of my music. And, as tobinus said, lots of people put in a few nominations for themselves. I realized if I hadn't been a bit greedy that hnturs would be reviewed this week, and that's why I wanted to postpone it. Of course they wouldn't let me, but that's of the past.
And tobinus, thanks for the review. You're very right about that. Thank you very much, it's very helpful. And I agree, I don't think people are really looking at my newer stuff, which is in fact, much better. I could be wrong, though.

I could be wrong, though. Well, I did once but stopped after that round due to the fact that I thought I was going to be called selfish + I don't like cheating. A better way (Not sure if you have done this) to promote and let people see your work is by posting topics with a link to your work. People (Including myself) Check out those areas of Pokemon Zone.
