We haven't had a forum project since the Winter remix project, so why not have a new one for the New Year? I noticed that the forum has already done a RBY remix project, so how about a GSC remix project? Since we are all on Spring Break (or most of us anyways), should the motif be Spring? What songs should be covered? What's a good name for the project? All that can be discussed here. And yes, this does have the SuperiorLarxene stamp of approval. ;D Songs Requested - Ecruteak City (DJ Llort)
- Dragon's Den (DJ Llort & JoePotato28)
- Azalea Town (pokemoneinstein)
- Route 29 (pokemoneinstein)
- Sprout Tower (pokemoneinstein)
- Olivine Lighthouse (AlmightyArceus)
- Olivine City (AlmightyArceus)
- Johto Gym (AlmightyArceus)
- Johto Trainer (SuperiorLarxene)
- Credits (The End) (SuperiorLarxene)
- S.S. Aqua (JillSandwich93)
- Surf Theme (JillSandwich93)
- Rival Battle (Chao)
- Strange Encounter Theme (Chao)
- Goldenrod City/Bike Theme (Chao)
- Team Rocket Battle (LightUmbreon)
- Game Corner (LightUmbreon)
- Rocket Hideout (LightUmbreon)
- Tin Tower (Ribby)
- Ruins of Alph (Ribby/Dasgust & Chao)
- Pokeflute (Dasgust)
- Legendary Beast Battle (PT150)
- Vermillion City (PT150)
- Route 38 (PT150)
- Route 3 (TheGuitahHeroe)
- Route 42 (TheGuitahHeroe)

I'd much rather see a project dedicated to remixing, say, the TCG/II music or something of that caliber. I also sort of agree waiting until summer; a week or two of Spring Break is a bit too tight of a deadline, not to mention by summer time, no one will have stressful school on their minds impairing their time or creativity.
I think when we discussed doing another forum project before, we all kind of agreed that GSC and BW were way too huge to make a forum project out of. Again, I'd personally like to see something devoted to the side games, or maybe even a "Pokemon Stadium" remix project to abuse my soundfont /shameless plug

"I'd much rather see a project dedicated to remixing, say, the TCG/II"
In all honesty, THAT isn't going to get any attention at all, in my opinion. If we do a project devoted to something other than the main games, it might as well be the Mystery Dungeon series.

I think we also discussed that we don't have to go big and do the entire OST, so doing something like GSC or BW wouldn't really be a problem. We'd just have to use Stein's tactic and limit the piece choosing process. (One piece per person and/or a collaboration.) I also don't think every one here uses FL, and if I remember correctly, the Stadium soundfonts require some magic and trickery to get it functioning properly.
Regardless, I'm down for anything. If you guys want to wait until summer rolls around, I'm down. If you want to do it now, then I'm down... lol It doesn't really matter to me.

It doesn't really matter for me; personally if it doesn't use soundfonts I can't guarantee entry because that's all I'm practically good at. And now I feel like I'm one of the only surviving users of the BW soundfonts too. xP
However, I do wonder one thing: do any of these forum projects actually get finished? :I

the r/b/y project has enough tracks to be called finished too

No it doesn't. The reason the Winter project can even kinda be called done is that there was a deadline and whatever was submitted made the cut. The RBY project's completion date was whenever all the songs were made.

Well I'll be golly gosh darned. I was already working on a GSC soundtrack revamp, now this. Of course, I could add what I have done, depending on how the remixing is going to be done (please be BW soundfont, please...) Anywho, it'll be interesting to see what members of this forum can do to this almighty and nostalgic soundtrack! ;D

The RBY project's completion date was whenever all the songs were made. so then isn't the project considered finished?

Not at all. Fewer than half of them were ever completed.

Not at all. Fewer than half of them were ever completed. But the R/B/Y project still got more remixes than the winter project, so why wouldn't the R/B/Y project be viewed as complete? I know that there were still leftover songs to be done, but I thought the project was viewed as finished (or at least done with) haha

Because we didn't reach the goal. It's not about total song count. The Winter project is complete because our aim was to push people to sign up for remixes, and whatever was done was included as part of the album on a certain release date. it would have been finished even if we only had 2 songs. The goal of the RBY project was to remix the entire OST, which we just never did.

Yeah, but after multiple failed revival attempts, can we just consider the RBY project finished? Honestly, I think it was pretty successful, despite not reaching that goal, for the number of people we have in the community. :S
also: my first ontopic post of the thread:
I'm all for any summer remix album :V
