Meh - writing in the style of pokemon music is not my thing, but I may make something for this sometime if I have the spare time and some sort of inspiration
This need a soundfont or something, or anything as long as it sounds good?

Doesn't have to be right away, but it will have to be after the competition is over if I use it.
To save yourself the trouble, I would recommend using the HGSS soundfonts.

The Judges have made their decisions. The following users were responsible for deciding the winner:

With exception of the latter, all have given reviews as well as a score. The results are summed up in each one's response:

AlmightyArceus:
Pretty catchy, moves on nicely and the picked instruments fit together well. Also, I really like the orch hits! Great work!
8/10

TheGuitahHeroe:
Very interesting piece, a little scary and it really fits a Pokémon like Genetex. I like the effects and instruments used on this and the song is excellent overall.
9/10

AA: The composition was great! It was a theme that really suits a legendary Pokemon. The fact that you added in the cry of the Pokemon made it feel like I was actually battling Genetex. From my understanding, this was to be done with the HG/SS soundfonts. But I can't complain, it's still nice.
There was some good instrumentation and really nice drum play, on the plus side. It kept a steady pace and never really detracted like most pieces tend to do.
But like all pieces of music, there were issues.
This one, in particular, used every instrument at any chance in every bar. When there's variation, there is a sense of uniqueness. That's where this one fell back on. The choir, I feel, was overused. because of this, you lost a few points, but this is probably due to your own style of composing. The orchestra hits got a little competitive with the rest of the song because just before it goes in to repeat, it slams up, overpowering everything else and then it goes quiet again.
Overall I give this battle a 7/10. Personally, it's my favourite. Something about it doesn't feel like a Genetex is quite legendary when I hear this though.
Moving on.
TGH: I'll be perfectly honest. When I heard this theme, it scared me! I liked that you went completely out of your style with this one though. It was a nice change and I could really judge it differently from your other works.
You kept a lot of simplicity with the few instruments you chose, it reminded me of the Gecchisu (or however you spell it) battle. they way that nothing kept a steady pace was nice. The pitch bending made it even more eerie also. This was the kind of piece in which the notes don't really go anywhere but still, at the same time, hit a climax and then start over.
That was the good, now for the otherwise.
Ordinarily, when you have that one instrument that you use seldom, it shouldn't be up over everything else (the organ, in this case). Most of the notes don't make much sense, as I suspect they weren't supposed to, but it really throws you off when they're everywhere sometimes. The volume adjustments also, were dome to give the feel of the song is being played backwards, but it was overused just a bit. I had no issues with the bass line, I liked it. It was constant.
This piece still, I lean toward. Because it's strange and familiar at the same time. It really works as a legendary and final battle song; the sound effects really make it sound mechanical and genetically altered, like what it represents.
Overall, I give this one a 9/10. This song scares me too much to listen to it for too long, but still it's quite steady. It feels like a legendary to me.

Full reviews, or just decisions? I choose TGH's piece either way.
It has been decided by unanimous decision that the winner is...
TheGuitahHeroe!!!
(Victory Fanfare from HGSS added below for the heck of it)
