To sum up the title, There IS no Pokemon Gray.
From Nintendo3DSBlog:
"Ah, the soul crushing continues. A Spanish website interviewed folks from GameFreak at a Pokemon Black and White event in London. They asked the team if there would be a Pokemon Gray coming to the Nintendo 3DS, to which GameFreak replied: “Not at all. We finished this comes with Black and White version.” That’s not a perfect translation obviously, but as you can see via Google Translate, it’s quite apparent that this will be the first generation of the Pokemon series that won’t receive further editing in the form of a game like Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, or Platinum. But perhaps that means the Pokemon game in development for the 3DS will be a “real” Pokemon game?
Update: Nekki (in the comments below) has provided us with a better translation of the above quote, “With B&W, we have concluded this iteration.” We also have a similar translation from Luis: “We have finished this series with the Black and White version.”"

Well darn. I hope that the game that is coming out for the Wii isn't another colluseum game and that the 3ds one won't be another mystery dungeon or ranger game.
Ya know what we need? A Pokemon MMORPG. An official one. Only problem being, I would never leave my house again, because I'd never want to stop.

Game freak doesn't handle those (mystery dungeon, etc .), so I don't think they'd announce them

YES! FINALLY! Do you know what? I've wanted them to stop making those third versions for some time, mostly because most reviewers, as well as me a bit, found them unneccesary. This has kinda been hinted to for some time.. Junichi Masuda said that he personally thought they couldn't overwhelm Pokémon Black and White. www.gamefreak.co.jp/blog/dir_english/?p=206They have had several interviews recently, so we should expect a few more articles soon. I hope remakes are up next! But lets not start that discussion here ^^

I'm kinda glad, third versions were pretty pointless. Plus this gives them more time to work on the inevitable R/S remakes that I'm looking forward to.

Ok, yeah, that's true, but you know what I mean XD
Though I have to admit—I'm skeptical about this. I feel like it would be on Bulbapedia by now...

No. They translated this allll wrong. Why the fudge would they just STOP the series right there? They have 3 more "new Pokemon" to reveal yet, about 3 movies worth, and we JUST BEGAN the 5th generation. Geez, calm down, we'll get new Pokemon games eventually. And besides, they don't have to name the third version "Pokemon Gray". Platinum didn't stick with the jewel theme! It kinda transitioned into the Gold and Silver remakes, which are metals like platinum. I say that the third version (if Game Freak decides to make one that is, and no doubt they will, 3rd version=$moolah$) could be named after a jewel, thus transitioning into the 3rd gen remakes (kinda like how Crystal transitioned to Ruby and Sapphire!) Since the third version will obviously be based off of Kyurem (No, I'm sorry, but Landlos isn't THAT special) it could be named after a blue jewel of some sort, or maybe even Pokemon Gray like some expect. My top three choices for Kyurem's version are either: Pokemon Aquamarine (light blue gemstone like Kyurem), Pokemon Azure(or Azurite, also a blue gemstone), or they could make it Pokemon Marble (a stretch, but its a gray-ish color and a type of stone, it could work!)

THANK YOU! All of this was exactly what I was going to say. According to serebii.net: "In the interview, the question regarding future games was asked. Naturally, they said there are no future plans AT THE MOMENT for future games, t hus concluding the market strategy for the current release; Black and White. However, many have taken this to mean that the games are not coming in the future which is definitely NOT the case considering the fifth generation is just beginning." It's a market strategy. By saying this, they increase demand by making current products seem rarer, AND leave it open for another game that is not titled "Pokemon Grey." To be honest, I didn't think they would call it Grey; grey is a rather unappealing color and doesn't make too much sense with the theme of the games. The reason they are black and white are to represent yin and yang.

Well, it's also likely that they won't make a third version. I mean, they have always wanted to make B/W stay out, and they've broken more than one tradition with these games. If they released a third version, that would make Black and White a bit less unique, in my opinion. Plus, if they were to say that "Not under development", then they could have said "This is pure rumor and speculation", or just "We cannot answer that question" or something like that. Instead, they said that with Black and White, they've concluded this iteration.
Of course, there is no point in discussing the details. My points here can easily be declared invalid, simply because... well. Here we have some Japanese developers, who's daily language is Japanese. They have (probably) spoken in English with some Spanish journalist, who have translated what they said into Spanish. And then we have translated it back into English. With three translation, the details and the meaning could very easily have been altered :3

And miss out on another chance to make additional money from the game (which they already make additional from the fact that each game has 2 versions with mainly slight altercations, though this one looks like it actually tries to put in more unique differences - but still, you get the point)?
