*Will return sometime this week with a review* EDITNow that I have some time, I can give a proper review.Okay, to get personal comments right and out of the way; when I first heard your music, I thought you were amazing! Your way with Pokémon remixes and arrangements is top notch! You have a great choice in instruments, as well as a good composing sense. If I'm correct, I heard that you too, use FL studio for your work. Your sense of sounfonts and music programs makes for even better music. You're EQ always seems to be in the right place. Your style is very unique. From the pitch bends in the instruments the dynamic percussion. I've never heard anything like it. I guess my review this time around is more knowledge-heavy than music itself. Moving along... While there is a lot of variety to your work, I would like to hear more softly arranged pieces from you, for diversity's sake. I enjoyed your quieter pieces *For example: "Pokemon Black and White: Opening/N's Farewell (Ripped/Remastered)"* As fun and interesting as soundfonts can be, it's always nice to go back and try something different (or even experiment with new sounds and instruments!) To summarize everything I just said, you have great knowledge, and it's what makes you one of the best composers here (if not the best!). But even the best can get better! Overall score from me: you get a very high 98%I think I covered all of what I wanted to say. Keep up the great work, Chao. And here's to greater heights!

Chao is probably one of the most knowledgable of all people in regards to soundfonts and FL studio. Frequently I ask him questions of how to do this, and what to do with that, and every single time he gives clear pointers of how to do it. Since he is so knowledgable on music software and programs, he is able to produce some fantastic pieces. He knows how to get the perfect balance of everything. He's definitely not your average pokemon soundfont person either. In fact, in my opinion he is the best soundfont remixer on youtube (gary oak battle/gym leader battle!!!). Since he has such a vast experience with soundfonts he know exactly what he has to do to make sure he gets everything right.
Chao's compositions are fantastic, I think your N battle remix for Pokemon Stadium is the best N remix out there. He sets the tone to every piece ridiculously well, I remember him saying how before he composes (OC's in particular) that he thinks about the personality of the character and then writes to set the tone to the particular character.
I rate Chao very highly: 98% because he is just epic. Need I say more? Please keep improving and doing what you love, which is music!
(I hope this review doesn't sound too stupid, I'm really tired)

CHAO!!! I will fit a review in even if it is past due, just because you deserve it! Mkay, so here we go. LuLu is gonna try to be a little more in-depth this time around with his reviews. I wanna start off by saying that my first impression of you is not what you have turned out to be. I know, I am a critical person! :S But I hope that you see this as a compliment, because my first impression was that you are an amazing musician, and you have surpassed that in your works. Going through your channel videos, I have come to find some things that I personally enjoy the most and some things that I wouldn't personally do. And now, here they are! xD Strengths:Your first works that really catch my attention on your channel are 8-bit remixes. I love the attention to detail in these. They actually have a bit of variety to them, contrary to other 8-bit works, and are not a direct rip from the game. By keeping this attention to detail, you really will produce amazing music, as you already have. The Pokémon Stadium version of Battle! VS N was actually believable in the sense that it sounded unique enough not to be fanmade, regardless of the fact that it is. The originality you bring to your DS remixes is astounding! I am a major fan of your DS works simply because of the fresh new takes on old themes. You know, I have always felt that I lack in the remix area, and your themes provide a reason for me to work harder, as they have set the bar. Watch out people, WitchChao's remixes are back and better than ever! Suggestions:You may notice that I have not used the word weaknesses here. I am not going to use that, as I believe that the term implies that the suggestions that follow are the only way to improve the weakness. I do not believe that my advice is infallible and totally superior. Take it as you will. Now, the thing that sticks out to me is your DS remixes. The musicianship is not the problem here, it is the technicality. Often times there are some instruments that stick out above others in a way that is a little strange and distracting. The opposite is true too, with some instruments that really should be louder. Specific examples include "Last Battle! Vs. Rival! (2010 DS Remix) (Black/White/HG/SS)", where the drums seem to be abnormally loud compared to the rest of the instruments. This gives the song a bit of a far-away feeling. My suggestion cases like this would be to lower the percussion volume in places where it sticks out, especially with heavy hits. Also, as a general note, low bass velocity seems to be common theme in your DS remixes. Pump up da' bass! xD Overall Score: 95% Your originality and energy in your pieces makes each song a delight to listen to. Very nice job! Keep up the amazing work! OH! And have you considered original compositions? ;D +1 cat333pokemon +1 DoubleJoe7 +3 sircombeestudios

Okay I appologize I've not reviewed Chao nor anyone else for a long time, I am the worst person when it comes to forum navigation, remembering important things and well other things that matter.
Anyways Chao, a person whom we know mostly for many fabulous revamps of songs in certain game or system styles (specifically his DS stylized arrangements).
Overall Rating: 96% or 8/10.
Now before you ask why I say this instead of 99 or 100%'s I present to you the one fact of life and that is that there is no such thing as true perfection, yes that's true. Anyone can improve and the 1st thing I can offer as a suggestion for Chao to try for improvement would be to take his skill at EQ, Re-mastering and Arrangements and try to make a remix. He's got the skill yes, it's been proven since he adds his own material to all of his DS Remakes he does and if he carries this over to a remix, I think we would all be satisfied. Now of course you could make a Techno, Orchestral or whatever you want kind of remix, you don't even have to make an official remix since this is just my own personal criticism and which should never be taken seriously... ever. But if you like techno, go for it. If you like orchestral stuff calm or powerful, go for it. Do what you like and what makes you happy and satisfied Chao.
Or of course, seeing your skill with arrangements and handling sounds from games, you could join the bandwagon and make an Original Composition. Anyone is capable of doing one it's rather or not they apply themselves to doing such. Make a video game OC or like everyone else Pokemon OC Battle themes, or if that does not float your boat try a more orchestral OC. I can see that you have great potential for such thing especially when we look at a song that you and Nicky did together on this Collab Arrangement of yours, the RBY Gym Leader theme:
Yeah we can see that I have no clue how to do these reviews anymore, I'm just throwing a bunch of useless so called "criticism and ideas" your way Chao, but if you do read all of it and take some of it to heart.... then good god I've done something correct for once in a lifetime.
Any other areas of improvement are out of site for me, baby steps are important anyways. So yes, if you take my advice then go for a real remix or OC and see how that makes you feel, I'm sure you'll feel superbly proud of yourself once you see what your capable of.
Other thoughts: Well any other examples of excellency that come to mind from your Youtube Channel are the following.
This song is what I personally think is your BEST Arrangement of a video game style that you've ever done in my own opinion. Combining various random DS game samples to make a more retro Pokemon Stadium sound was a very excellent job done:
This one just proves my above statements about how you have good ear for equalization in my opinion and creativeness for a remix if you decide to do one:
Totally made this post sloppy and hard to read, I'll retype it later if I remember... so I apologize for now.
