How would you guys feel about tournaments? (Single, Double, Ladder, Round Robin, Up and Down, Consolation, etc.) Just want to get some opinions on this to see if we can have any of these in the future.

I think if we do tournaments it should be split into categories. Like Orchestral, Electronic, Rock, Etc.
And yes, I'd be up for a tournament, if it was done right.

If someone was to start a tournament, yes, you can split it up like that, but I don't really think we should limit each tournament to a specific genre.

I didnt mean that we should have a tourny for EACH genre, but you cant really compare an orchestral piece to an electronic piece.

Composition, Length, Wow Factor, Quality, and Instrumentation (Sorry if I missed any.) It's not really about comparing the to pieces, but it's more about what makes your composition unique/well composed.

No, that's too limiting and discourages creativity From my experience it's far better to choose a "theme" and then allow the entrants to decide for themselves how to take it, it allows for much broader range of entries and allows more people to enter. For example: Theme: fight You could take this many, many ways - so more people could join, it's not necessarily limiting on genre as you can express it in a multitude of styles so often the most creative entrant has the upper edge. Basically it's better to choose abstract themes then limiting entries to genres And yes, tournaments would be cool done right

I actually like WWTP's idea much better than mine. So. Yeah. Theme. Thing. Fight. Yeah.
