Looks like it won't be able to stand up vertically. Dammit, that screws my gaming setup over quite a bit.

I like the Wii U, I'm sure pretty cool ideas will appear for the controller, like the Wii when it was released.
If they even make a Pokémon game for the Wii U (I'm sure one will appear soon), I only have one use of the Wii U controller: the Pokémon battle menus. I have only played Battle Revolution one time, and I think that selecting Pokémon and moves with the Wiimote was really uncomfortable. With the touch screen it would be the same as the DS.

I just realized WiiU sounds kinda like AEIOU John Maden John Maden
Ideals cool, though I was kinda hoping they'd be more creative with their next system, I can see this, similar to the wii, running on a gimmick for a while after its release.

Is Skyward Sword gonna be exlusive to WiiU? If so, I'm SOL.

Guitarheroe, skyward sword is going to be for Wii, so it's all good.
The name isn't to great but, i thought that about the Wii, and now I say "Wii" like it's the most normal thing. And i have to say, I like the new controller, it looks like it'll be really fun to use. Hopefully, it won't be necessary for every game though. I think you can use the Wiimote and hopefully the gamecube controller will still be compatible.

Unfortunately, I don't think it will use GCN controllers. I refuse to start using the Wiimote for Smash Bros.

Yeah... wiimote by itself is ugh... But, wiimote and nunchuck is actually really similar to a normal controller once you get used to it. I primarily use the wiimote/nunchuck combo now, it helps at parties!
