Not sure if this is the right place to post or ask this, but lately I've been feeling a little overwhelmed in composing the music for this fan game I've been working on; I've got a handful of various tunes, and even more ideas in my head, but I can't pump them out as quickly or as efficiently as I would like to on my own. Since I quickly escalated into a higher role of development in the game, which includes doing some graphical work, my tasks for this game are a bit numerous.
So that's why I'm asking for a bit of help; I know most of you guys are already involved in ambitious Fan Game projects of you're own that you're all struggling with, but ANY help I can get would be most appreciated. You can choose whether or not you want to compose your own music or collaborate with me to get my ideas down on paper faster and better.
The RULE: The one rule you must follow if you choose to help me, and the one that is the most imperitive, is that you cannot post your completed work anywhere until the demo containing it is realized. I know alot of you are fond of sharing your works, and that's it's a bit off putting, but it's not my decision to make; the big guy himself wants the music under wraps for whatever reason, so I'm following his wishes.
The Tools: Firstly, since our game is (now) in Gen 3 style, you'll need the latest version of the GBA Pokemon Soundfont I ripped over here: fanmadepokemon.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=sf2&action=display&thread=865
In addition to that, volunteering to help out will get you exclusive access to several samples that I have not made public yet, including my library of authentic Game Boy sounds, to use in your compositions. Eventually these samples will be released to the general public, but for now I'm keeping them private so I don't lose any gripping incentive people might need to help me out.
Collabs: If, for some reason you don't feel confident or comfortable with composing a few tunes of your own, you can collaborate with me or one of the other composers that volunteer to help out to contribute a more manageable piece of music to the project. The same tools as above apply, though unless we both end up having the ability to use FL, we'll probably end up making the collab a Midi before I render it with all the bells and whistles of the GBA sounds.
No matter how you may choose to help me, your help is greatly appreciated, and you WILL be credited for any and all work you contribute! If you can't help out, thanks for reading and caring anyway.
If you're at all interested, you should post here, and contact me on Skype or MSN for more detailed information on what the project entails.
Thanks in advance! ~Chao
P.S. If this doesn't belong here, you can move it to the requests board or what have you.
