I like the second idea better, actually. Type variations on the gym themes. What types are the gyms?

Yeah, I think it could work. Let's do themed versions.

That's a great theme, but I think it sounds like a rival battle.

Meh, rivals were better when you hated them and they hated you imo
But the instrument choice and such seems to convey a sense of adventure, I'd say it works best for wild

Oh yeah it is pretty cheery, especially since I un-arabianized it. I think it could work for both, it really depends on the character of the rival. Which in this game at least doesn't really work.

The theme could also work as a battle theme, but often the rival themes are cheerier. I didn't know about the rival of this game.

It's pretty good. The only thing I would consider is that the intro (not the descending notes area, but right after that) uses a music box, as opposed to something more... Battle-y. And there's also a bridge that sounds pretty desert-ish, but if you add another line in there of strings or brass it could sound like a battle again in there. I don't know... some of the instrumentalization is a bit odd. :/

Imo, the more exotic sounding parts sounded great

pokemoneinstein*Instrumentation But, it did sound pretty good except I didn't like that bongo type instrument and that zippity instrument.

And at what second does the desert sounding part start? I tried to eliminate them all but it's really difficult. The Pokemon style of music makes it a little tough to not go in that direction.

Right. XD I'm exhausted, and I was thinking of some other word when I typed that.
@fhh: I don't know. There's a part, I think between loops, that doesn't have much but an adventurous jungleish-dersertish feel to it. It's good for backing but it needs a main instrument.
