Make sure to making surfing fast, and include a plethora of Pokémon, and changing what you may find on the different routes. Also change the surfing encounter rate from like 20, or whatever is is, down to the normal 7%. Basically, a game with this much surfing will be hindered if it keeps the normal "Every five steps I get nothing but a damn Tentacool" thing. And a new Jellyfish Pokémon in addition to Tentacool/cruel would be awesome. In fact, I might go get working on some new water types for this game.

DIE JELLYFISH DIE Tentacool, next to Zubat, must be one of everyone's most hated pokemon for how often they pop up on you (hmmm both of them also have incredibly annoying moves too, I mean wrap and many poison causing moves on something that pops up every 5 seconds and seems to be a pain to get away from is an enormous pain - only thing they could do to make it more annoying would be to make every so many tentacools have some crazy ability like arena trap forcing you to fight them)).
Hmmm also going on the map, you're probably going to want more then just 1 surf theme if there's so many water routes.

Tentacool's is the reason I couldn't remember what the R/S/E surf theme sounded like save for the few first measures But I like all the water, it different than what you'd usually get in pokemon. Team Magma would be pissed.

I agree with whereworlftherewolf to an extent. I think it's something to consider, though I don't think it's necessarily important. I mean, let's be fair. There isn't THAT much water. Plus, if this were a real game, the surf theme would be something iconic. It would be Opal's version of Route 209, or the theme that plays on just about every route in Johto. It would be this game's Route 10-19. Though again, it might be nice to have a change of the music.

One surf theme. 3 different variations of that theme. Like in some Sonic games where Act 2 and 3 are remixes of Act 1's music. Btw, I'm looking forward to seeing some more artwork whiterose

Right, I forgot this was an art showcase thread as opposed to a discussion about the game. XD

I'll close this I suppose, the convo over with will be a likely change. The first 2 surf routes will have a surfing music the same, but the large route with many branches will have a more big band adventure theme.
Also, the starter town is the lowest green dot on the right side of the map, with a route extending up to another green dot.
