wii.ign.com/articles/114/1140267p1.htmlAn article from IGN, and as usual, IGN is jumping to conclusions. 2011 has yet to begin and they are already saying stuff like this? lol Just because of the line-up PS3 has for 2011, this is the last great year for the Wii? That's like saying the same thing for the Xbox360 knowing damn well it isn't. lol PS3 has an amazing line-up, but who is to say that Nintendo doesn't have a trick up their sleeve? For all we know, Nintendo could be working on another Star Fox game or anything that could put it on top AGAIN in 2011. Same goes for Xbox360. Who is to say they won't come out with another Banjo Kazooie game or something and it happens to be the game of they year? No one can officially say that yet. At all. Any opinions on the article?

For the Wii, maybe. I actually think it's quite possible. They would need to have announced many more games in order for them to release them before E3. Though in reality, most of Nintendo's games came out after E3, some with a short notice. And then there's the question of the 3DS and what will happen then.

That's my point exactly. It's either because Nintendo wants surprise everyone after E3, or maybe, this year is just not the year for the Wii. But if there is one thing that we know about Nintendo is that they never give up and they'll continue to pound us with excellent exclusives. Same with Microsoft. I know they both have something up their sleeves. As for the 3DS, it alone will has the potential to conquer 2011 because the exclusives coming out for it are absolutely amazing. But like I said, we can't really say for sure. We'll have to wait and see, but I'm really wanting to see what Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo will pull out this year. I know for sure that the beginning of 2011 is automatically Sony's. Near the middle or end. Don't know.

Hasn't Nintendo already started planning their next console?

The 3DS is going to sell really great in March here in the US because, it's already awesome. You got Game Boy games (Super Mario, Pokemon, Zelda, Kirby) you got 3D remakes (Star Fox and Zelda) and plenty of good games such as Resdient Evil, Mario Kart, DJ Hero, Animal Crossing, Kingdom Hearts, Metal Gear Solid and plenty more. We haven't even started with the Wii!

At the E3 2010 presentation, Iwata revealed to the BBC that they would begin announcing a new console once Nintendo ran "out of ideas with the current hardware and cannot give users any more meaningful surprises with the technology [they] have." Later, at an investors meeting, he disclosed that they were "of course studying and developing the next console to Wii", but they were simultaneously keeping its concepts secret because it was "really important for [his] business to positively surprise people

I heard somewhere that Nintendo was researching holographic disc readers. I forget where, but I remember it was a rather credible source. Some sort of patent thing or something. But anyway, basically, you know those little cards with ridges, you turn them one way and you see a picture, then you turn it some more and you see a slightly different picture that made it seem like it was moving. Basically, that. But with a disc. Now get this: the reader sees something different at every tiny little angle change in the disc. That leaves nearly limitless room for data storage in one disc. Now it said they were only considering it, so it certainly isn't going to be any time soon, but it would be so awesome if they understand how to develop this technology and utilize it for the Wii's successor. Think of how deep into the company's history games like Smash Bros. would go. Think of how many retro courses they could include in the next Mario Kart. Think of the amazing collection games that could potentially be released! I, for one, really hope that that's what they're unveiling whenever they announce the Wii's successor.

I know. It will be really interesting to see if they can/are going to do it, and I'll certainly be amazed if they accomplish it this soon. Though knowing Nintendo, I don't doubt they can pull it off

Though knowing Nintendo, I don't doubt they can pull it off Indeed. They are the first ones to create 3D software without the use of special glasses. So, who says they won't be the first to do this? But, I really do love that idea.

Don't forget the first to render computer graphics and 3D models in video games, first to use stereo/surround sound, and first to use motion controls. If only they could add first to use GD-ROMs

and first to use motion controls. Lol, that's still pretty funny even though the Wii turned out MUCH better. You have to give them credit for being really creative with control interfaces, not that they always turn out well but at least they tried.
