This kind of thread worked well on another forum I'm a member of, so I'm going to bring it here. As the title says, the goal is to rate and review a song from the user above you. It'd be a good idea to post the link to the video so that everyone can see easier. Really anything goes, as long as it's not simply "I really like it" or something not at least constructive. So, I guess I'll be first. It'd be easier to post your youtube channel in your post so that the person below you can get easier access, so... www.youtube.com/user/JillSandwich93

^ reviewed the first phoenix wright one which is your featured video Man, I love that sound, whatever it is. . . it sounds like a really fast arp, playing along with the percussion. Gorgeous. Other than that, it's very, VERY solid. There's not really that much to say other than that. Anyway here's my channel www.youtube.com/user/TheGuitahHeroe?feature=mhum*(hopes for a sniped post below him. . .TWO REVIEWS FOR THE PRICE OF ONE)

Rating: 7.2/10I really like this! It's probably the most atmospheric original composition I've ever heard. But a melody is missing, even if you this was what you were aiming for, without a main melody or back-up, it feels empty. It also needs a build. Like adding one thing after another. It really doesn't progress at all. Almost stays the same throughout the entire piece. But, still... it's a nice song.
Here's my channel for easy access. xP SuperiorLarxeneEDIT: Actually, I LOVE what Amtrax did. I mean the name of this thread IS RATE a composition from the user above you. So, I'm going to add a rating.

I'm gonna say it right now. I love solo piano pieces and I love Sonic. But I never would have thought that anyone could take a Song like Splash Hill Zone and make it as pretty as this. I know it' pretty short, but the begining of it sucked me in and when the fast part kicked in, it still seemed to flow very well. My only criticism is the length and abrupt ending, but it still sounds incredible. Overall 8/10 (I know noone else is rating but that's the short version for any TLDR peeps out there www.youtube.com/user/AMTRAX91?feature=mhum

Comments:Man I love the bass in this remix, and also the percussion, although quite subtle, works really well. I also really like the little warbling notes from 0:21 to around 0:58. The tone of the piece is set really well from the beginning as well (those choirs are so eeeriee!!) The piece really reminds me of Mewtwo, especially the beeps which fit in really well as they don't overpower the piece and don't take away the musical elements of the piece. Great job Amtrax

I really like this remix - it's trying to be something of its own, and isn't just the melody thrown into new instruments. I like the instruments chosen, and is it that sound brightness effect I hear in the intro? Also, you didn't just do a copy-paste, and you made an ending. Very good, too many people forget to do that. The only thing which could be better, would be one instrument which plays some fast note in one place, but the instrument has too long attack, so you don't get to hear the instrument that much. Also, since this is a song remixed A LOT, it really needs to be unique - and this is not the most unique remix I've heard of it. That doesn't mean it's not good though Overall: 9/10Use the house icon to the left to go to my channel

Definitely an interesting piece, it has quite a build up and progression and focuses on just the piano, it doesn't try to distract the piece with any percussion or that sort of thing which allows the contrast in the piece to really shine through. As for the composition, you worked very well to provide plenty of contrast through the piece to keep it interesting. As for the melodic parts of the piece, the part starting around 1 minute is great melodically and is incredibly interesting, sadly you don't elaborate more on this and return quickly to the overall motif of the piece - this is pretty much how most of the piece goes, you deviate with a really interesting melody but then fairly quickly drop it to return to the main motif. The main motif itself is good, it's not a bad melody it's just not as interesting as the more complex parts you wrote. Overall I love the progression and emotions the piece moves through, it's definitely a very solid piano solo piece.
8/10
Also I could definitely hear parts where the song was inspired by pokemon themes (especially in the bass line).

Why did this thread die? Anyway, I shall rate you!(r song)
I chose Alphabandits! I love the buildup to the lead. The lead, unfortunately, sounded a bit dissonant in some places, most notably the first little melody. The guitar solos, however, are a very nice touch, and they sound great! I LOVE the guitar solos, and the little duet between the quieted lead and the guitar is really nice. Good job all around. The dissonance keeps me away from calling it "fantastic," or something, but it is a very good remix nonetheless.

Holy pickles, I have to review STEIN!?!?!!?! GRAHHHHHHH!!!!
Lol, jk, I reviewed my favorite remix of yours, Burned Tower from GSC reorchestrated. I love the Japanese violin thingy sound at the beginning. It sets the mood very well for this reorchestration! The instrumentation choice is very well done, I like it a lot! This is probably the best Burned Tower remix/reorch/remaster out there. Well done Stein!
10/10
