I recommend using FL Studio or Noteworthy Composer (I use Noteworthy. Seems a bit easier, in my opinion.) I also use SynthFont to apply the soundfonts to the MIDI I make. If you need more information on this, PM me or contact another user if NWC isn't for you. You can actually see a thread here about NWC is you go to the General Music section.

Hi joey,
Yes you can go onto my youtube channel and there is a download link for the Black and White soundfonts in the left sidebar. You need to apply those to a MIDI file using a program called Synthfont, or you can use FL studio as well.
