www.box.net/shared/5yhtfjmby0nxouyt0stfI need some help on this one, guys. As you can hear, I've used the sf2 that Chao gave me for the guitar (Thanks a billion, by the way). This is what I needed a guitar for. I've been transcribing this song since the other weekend; I'm now ready to to add my own touch. Here's the original song (in concert quality T_T) From my sources, this may never be released onto an album: For those of you who may or may not know the song. It's a re-imagined version of "Sonic Boom" from the Sonic CD game done in concert by Crush 40 and Alex from Cash Cash (The only person whom I believe should use auto tune). I'm starting to learn how to properly use effects and sounds in music and in FL studio. It's quite fun actually! Just really hard to do sometimes because I'm not too sure of what effects to use. I used one here called "Growling; " meant to simulate a growling animal I suppose. It works for the most part for what I want. the issue here now is that I need more to fill in the sound of the guitar. Any suggestions, guys?

Hm....try lowering the rhythm guitar by an octave. IDK why, but it sounds too high to me. Maybe that's just me, but if you lower the octave, it might make the song sound fuller, if that makes sense. If you're talking about the part where there aren't any guitar notes though...lol I dunno about that, but most of the time, Sonic songs (and most Puyo songs too) that have a guitar in them try to keep the rhythm going through as much of the song as possible; there are very few interludes in most Sonic songs where the guitar stops playing. Of course, you probably already knew that and I just accidently patronized you You also might try using pads or synth backdrops to help fill out sound in the higher octaves too. Are you gonna overlay vocals/the melody over this eventually too? BTW I love Crush 40's version of this song. So....grungy(?) LOL XD

Yeah, the rhythm's not done yet as I've only gotten about half of it done (It's really hard to hear it considering the quality of the song, so I'll have to improvise). I think it might be missing a few notes to complete the power chords. Treating it like an actual guitar is really easy when it comes to pitch bending, but I can't find a pedal function. I really want it to fit the style of an actual sonic song, I have to makes sure the guitar especially sounds right. I'm really gonna need some good sounding backdrop synths for this one, so I'll have to very very carefully listen to a lot of the songs that Jun Senoue wrote and produced and then find something to suit the melody. And yes, I do also plan on having some vocals. It's between me (if my voice will allow for the really high notes) and holding an audition, lol. *I'm freakin' in LOVE with their version! It really reminds me of my days as a kid playing Sonic CD. It's got a real grungy feel to it, lolz.*
