Yeah, I'm currently working on my own original composition using the B/W Soundfonts! I bought the producer version of FL Studio, so I can compose as I wish.
The theme I'm composing is meant to be played in an intense yet sad situation. Heck, I went to the trouble of writing a game's worth of backstory behind this one but I won't reveal that until I finish and it's posted This can be seen as a sort of parallel to lala19357's HG/SS Rival Battle theme. Speaking of which, there are two major shoutouts to lala in the 30 seconds of theme I've done so far (reminds me of hnturs12's lala theme).
It's currently lacking any percussion but it has a bass.
I'm gonna be a bit slow at this since I'm new to FL Studio, but I'm quickly getting used to it, what I have so far is only 2 hours worth of tinkering with it.
I got Tindeck, so I can upload what I have to there: tindeck.com/users/TheLegendary35
My goals with this theme, although it's my very first original composition, are to induce even the slightest bit of tearing up, to make even the choir sound saddened, and to at least compare to lala in oboe usage XD
What do I think music is? It's a story or idea composed without words or speech, a way you can tell someone how you feel without speaking the words, a form of communication that many have mastered! However, at the same time, many have not.
My goal with music is simple: Get the message across. I can explain the situation, or based on the title and tone I can leave you to guess at simpler scenarios. My first composition had to big a backstory to explain, never mind decipher. But the message was sadness.
Every instrument in a final product is important, and my secondary goal is to exploit that very fact! Percussion keeps the theme together, the bass adds volume, the melody provides the outer shell of the theme, to me, they must all be exploited.
