Am I the only one that likes the names, or at the least does not care? Hahaha, I always hate new pokemon but they grow on me eventually, heck I remember when I absolutely hated the DP starters but now I love them. Same thing will happen to me again with B&W, and their names are okay. The Japanese translations [according to Google Translator, which is already funny] would have been too silly sounding and hard to pronounce in my opinion. But hey, I'm not here to argue... just to point out my opinion. ^__^ At least the region name is awesome AND creative! Unova, Un = United States, ov= of, a= America. Wow, I didn't notice that. USA. Very clever. Yeah but I'm sure the names will grow on me too. I like Snivy now that I know it's pronounced like Ivy. Still I kinda wish they called Tepig Pyro-Pig instead. I know it's a sucky name but you could sing "Pyro-Pig, Pyro-Pig, does what ever a Pyro-Pig does."

Well you can always name your own one "Pyro-Pig." I'd think the unofficial names will probably continue to be used anyways by people who play it.

I'm satisfied with the names, but that might be because I got a bit low expectations I can't remember the 4th generation names, so I guess I'll have forgotten these in a few months ;D

Snivy isn't so bad. At least it's easy to understand the pronunciation and origin.
Though I have to say, the German "Floink" is so much better than Tepig. If I get Tepig (which I probably won't, due to the incredible overuse of fire/fighting starters in recent generations) I would either nickname it FLOINK or TEHPIG
