Pokémon Black and White are released in Europe and Japan, and Australia and America are still waiting unfortunately :/
Anyway, what are your thoughts, opinions and perhaps mostly first-impressions about the game?
I've played for an hour, and it's sinply AWESOME. I was surprised at how well the battles are - looks and flows a lot better than in the YouTube walktroughs and emulators. The only things I believe could be better, are the fact that the game lags a little bit when you walk upwards a hill, and the little delay between the moment a piece of text is done showing up, and a dialog box appears (like in PC, the yes / no question).
..those are the only things I find unsatisfying.. which means I can hardly critize anything about the game. I would recommend everyone buying it once it comes out in your region! It's amazing!

Clearly the best Pokémon game ever made. I can say this, even though I've played only 4 hours. The battles look amazing, the music is amazing, can't say much about the plot yet, but it looks good too. The rivals have way more bigger role in this game. The graphics amazing; when I took my first steps on the Skyarrow Bridge, it was mindblowing. Some of the popes are nice too, like Sandile and Darmatian. I should catch a Petilil so I could get Cottonee and then my favorite, Whimsicott. But yeah, clearly the best Pokémon game, according to ingame. I can't wait till the metagame, I'll start as soon as possible. By the way, have you guys decided your teams yet? I have three out of six of those popes I'm going to use in my team. And about that lag, I'm not sure did you meant this but I think, it isn't lag. It's supposed to be reality-like I think. Like, when you walk over the hill, of course you will slow down. But I dunno then, there's no such a problem in my game. //Darn, it's very hard to tell about my thoughts of this game in English. I suck. ;__;

I don't have any solid opinions on something I don't yet own, but I do look forward to playing them. They look like they have a fantastic story and great gameplay, but I must say, I'm very disappointed with the character design and the Pokémon names.

How'bout the names of the player characters? Hilda and Hilbert. Thank God you can name the player characters as you like. This is the first time I used other name than the original on my character. It's White, like my game.
I'm pretty disappointed to the names too, Patrat and stuff. Can't say much about the characters yet because I think you can't have any clear opinion about them if you've played only 4 hours.

I'm aware of it, but it doesn't feel that way - it seems like if they slowered the frame rate or something instead of adjusting the speed of movement.. but I'm pretty sure I'm wrong.. Well, the point was that these games are so great you cannot really find something to complain about, at least not with the game mechanics and such. ;D Also, thanks larx! I was tricked by all the other Pokémon threads you see

I love the character designs, and I recently fell in love with the soundtrack. :P This generation of Pokemon got away from that usually pokemon-ish feel, which is a good thing, because it get really repetitious. It doesn't get old, but change is a good thing. The Pokemon names I don't really care for. I usually either give them nicknames, or I just get used to them. tobinus You're welcome!

I am bored, so I guess I will post here. I am going to get Pokemon Black tomorrow. I can't wait! I have been waiting for this game for almost 10 months now. From what I can tell from all the information revealed so far (which is all of it) I can say that this may be the best mainstream Pokemon game ever. The battles look really good and the sprites move now, so that gives battles a more "Pokemon Stadium" kind of feel. I like how you cannot access old Pokemon until after the end of the main story. The music is a whole other story. I always look forward to the music of a Pokemon game. Why? Because it is constantly playing in the background. That is really the only main source of sound, other than random battle noises. I am impressed by the soundtrack of these games. They have some very catchy battle themes (and some that are not so catchy coughDENNIScough) but all in all I think the music fits the game perfectly, a new style for a new generation. The story I have yet to experience, so I will update this later. Now, one of my favorite parts of Pokemon are the characters. And boy, are there plenty of awesome characters in this game. The whole game starts off with you getting your starter Pokemon from Prof. Juniper and battling your rivals. I am excited that you have two ACTUAL rivals in this game. (Sorry, I don't consider Wally a rival in RSE.) The other characters in this game are wonderful, from the mysterious N (who is pretty badass) to the smaller characters such as Juniper's father, and even the Gym Leaders too. They all create a new world of Pokemon that I hope to enjoy for hours of playtime. And last but certainly not least, the Pokemon. I was impressed when I saw that there were more than 150 new Pokemon introduced this generation. I have actually come to accept these Pokemon quite well, I think that the English names could have been done better. In my opinion though, I think that while naming the Pokemon this generation, they could have been trying to give a "foreign" feel to the Pokemon since this game is based off of a foreign land (from Japan at least!). The ideas for the legendary Pokemon pleased me too. I couldn't think of anything that could top the "creation" theme from last generation and I think that the whole Yin-Yang theme went very well. All in all, I cannot wait to get my copy of Pokemon Black tomorrow. I am currently rushing through preparing at huge 10-minute long presentation due Monday so I can play Black all day tomorrow. Haha. Have fun everyone!

Well I don't own the game yet, but from what I've seen It's safe to say for the most part I despise the art direction they've taken it - there are a few ones I really like, and as always the legendaries are pretty solid, but some of the new pokemon just take the "anime cuteness" content to a level that diminished the whole factor that they are meant for combat, that and some just are of pointless subjects - like the vanilla ice cream one.

...which is a good thing, because it get really repetitious. A little lol: repetitive is the word you're looking for. :D And you are quite right on that; I'm glad they're shaking it up :D

I thought I could write what features I love about these games ;D - When you save.. you just answer "yes" _once_. That's right, no more mashing the A-button all the way!
- PokéMart in the Pokémon Center works really well!
- Again, THE BATTLES.
- You can now register not onlyone or two items, but you can register.. or "select" multiple menus and key items. I have registered the town map and the Medicine Bag Menu.
- You can go directly out of all the menus, no matter how far into the menus you are. Click the red cross, and you're back in the overworld. The blue arrow is like the B-button.
- Random Matchup! Only casual battles are available atm, random mathes with ranking mode will be available as soon as the global link website opens. This means you, as a noob, can meet a guy with all Pokémon in lv 50. I'm eaking from experience here ;D
I like the story so far too! But excuse me, I gotta play more ^_^

I've always wondered... Does PokéMart inside the Pokémon Center mean no more PokéMart music? :c
Maybe it starts playing when you talk to the clerk?
