I guess I might as well update.
Right now, i'm partway through the Driftveil Gym, and this is my team:
Rufflet Oshawott Purrloin Drilbur
All are level 32 and all are male, except for Purrloin, which is a level 33 female.

@stein: No evolving eh Stein? If you're looking for a challenge you should just go all out and Nuzlocke. (Eh, i kinda inadvertently made that term a verb...) Update: KalleDemos the Petalil: Lv. 39 (probably will evolve it soon.) Octoroc the Boldore: Lv.37 (Ditto^^) Armogohma the Galvantula: Lv. 37 Ganon the Emboar: Lv. 36 Toadsworth the Seismitoad: Lv. 38 (Ha, now i notice that my entire team except for one are Zelda references)

I'm actually not looking for a challenge, I just don't feel like evolving them for a while. I feel like the games move too fast anyway. I'm really glad the catch rates were adjusted, I'm still using regular Poké Balls which are still working like a charm, and I'm almost out on Route 6. in HGSS, an Ultra Ball would barely be able to catch a level 25 Pokémon at full HP, but in BW they can do it no problem. But I mean, I just think Pokémon usually evolve way too early. I like to keep them in their early forms until it starts to be too hard to use them, then I let them evolve. No real problems so far. I'd guess the first evolutions would be around levels 35-40 and then the second ones, around level 50 or so, assuming the Elite Four is a tough thing to beat. If they weren't a factor and you had to get like 20 badges before facing them, I'd guess the second evolutions would come in around level 70 or so. Maybe a bit earlier.

I'm liking the slow pacing of the games; I'm taking it slow and raising my Pokemon up evenly and efficiently, all while having fun along the way

I've added Litwick, but everyone is starting to have trouble holding up against the trainers, so I think I'll be evolving everything at level 41, the level at which Litwick normally evolves.

So I beat the game on Saturday, the final scenes were amazing! Not spoiling for anyone who hasn't beat it yet... I've been trading from my SoulSilver and I have to say that the PokéShifter is very fun to use! So here's my updated team again: Druddigon ♂ lvl1 (I'm starting "all one type" teams now ) Swablu lvl1 ♂ Trapinch lvl5 ♀ Dratini lvl11 ♀ Deino lvl38 ♂ Haxorus *Haxxors* lvl52 ♀

Just beat the 5th gym with the following team: Zora (Zoroark) Lv. 30 (Ramses III (Yamask) Lv. 28) Lolrus (Dewott) Lv. 30 Shimeracas (Maractus) Lv. 30 Throw (Throu) Lv. 30 Zapra (Zebrastrika) Lv. 30
The reason I put Yamask in parenthesis is because I think I'm going to take him out of my team. I really do love his Hex/Status combo and spam it all the way, but I really think that my Earth? (Boldore) is more powerful (He was my first pokemon to get to LV 30 and I boxed him because I knew he would be of no use at the Fifth Gym.) I will probably put Yamask in day care or something.

My team is now the following...
Lv. 43 Serperior, nicknamed "Smugleaf" Role: Smugleaf recently established its place as the fastest pokemon on my team, by far. This combined with its Leech Seed and Mega Drain combo make it a deadly Special Sweeper.
Lv. 43 Sawk, nicknamed "Chuck N." Role: Mr. Roundhouse Kick himself is still going strong as a fast and powerful Physical Sweeper. It still has Karate Chop and the Scope Lens, but now has Bulk Up to increase its stats, and still combos with Retaliate.
Lv. 42 Damaritan, nicknamed "Torch" Role: My other Physical Sweeper. The primary tactic with Torch is to use Belly Drum, then to follow up with Flare Blitz, which, when boosted by the STAB bonus and held Charcoal, completely annihilates the opposition.
Lv. 42 Elektross, nicknamed "Tesla" Role: Named for the famous inventor, my Elektross fills the role once occupied by my Liepard, Ocelot. It is an electric type, but it has the ability levitate, removing its only weakness and giving it zero disadvantages! The strategy is a carefully coordinated effort with Thunder Wave and Dragon Tail to paralyze the opponent's entire team, then to lower their accuracy with Flash, then Spark does the rest.
Lv. 43 Golurk, nicknamed "Juggernaut" Role: Needless to say, this pokemon is a friggin' TANK. It has some heavy firepower with Dynamic Punch and Mega Punch, and probably most importantly, it can FLY!
Lv. 33 Drudiggon, nicknamed "Ofnir" Role: I caught this pokemon intending to raise it as a physical sweeper, but it was a little too slow for my liking, so instead I made it my HM Slave (replacing Sentinal in that role). The only problem: it can't know Fly, which is the only reason for why I caught Juggernaut (like Scyther, just because it has wings doesn't mean it can fly). However, even so it has defeated foes far stronger than itself, including Drayden's Haxorus, winning me my eighth badge. However, in battle, it's usually cannon fodder.
Changes to the Team since the last update: -Ocelot and Sentinal replaced. -Tesla, Ofnir and Juggernaut caught. -Smugleaf, Torch and Juggernaut evolved.

I guess I should update. I've tried evolving everyone. I was getting to the point where I couldn't keep any of them alive after one turn of battle, so I decided it was time. I now have
Dewott, level 44: Surf, Blizzard, Aqua Tail, False Swipe. Rufflet, level 44: Cut, Aerial Ace, Fly, Air Slash. Lampent, level 44: Flash, SolarBeam, Flame Burst, Night Shade. Excadrill, level 45: Strength, Dig, Rock Slide, Brick Break. (I never realized what a hilarious word Stregnth seems.) Liepard, level 46: Sucker Punch, Snatch, Sand-Attack, Night Slash. Galvantula, level 49: Discharge, Bug Buzz, Electro Ball, Agility.
I had to use all my Rare Candies to level up Purrloin and Joltik to the point where they learned Sucker Punch and Bug Buzz, respectively. I haven't saved since before I evolved everything, and that was yesterday. I've been putting the game on sleep since then. Still no 8th Gym Badge, but I'm about to go fight Iris.
