If anybody is thinking of a game they might want, but can't decide, this is the thread for you! Here, users will ask for others' thoughts on a game they might want, and other people will come and and give their opinions. t's easy as that, and comes in handy.
I'm considering Rayman 3D. I know it's another release of Rayman 2, but I've never played it before. Apparently it's incredibly well-received among critics and fans alike, but I don't know... I'm just not familiar enough with the Rayman series to pay $40 without having tried the game first, or at least knowing that it's incredibly fun. What do you guys think I should do?
And don't forget to use this thread any time there's a game you're' unsure of. Happy hunting! Or... whatever this would be...

Well I played Rayman DS which is the same thing as Rayman 2. In my opinion, I'd just buy Rayman DS for a cheaper price, since the 3DS version will probably just add insignificant 3d effects and slight graphical improvement.
Also, Rayman is pretty fun, it can get frustrating at times because of challenge level, but who doesn't like a little challenge? Definitely a good game but you're probably better of saving money by buying the DS version.

I've actually heard the DS version is pretty bad in comparison to other versions, considering that it was a direct port to a vastly different system. This one, however, is being done from scratch, if I understand correctly. It's really a question of getting a 3DS game, anyway. It's for something good to play on the 3DS, not for Rayman 2. I've already looked at the rest of the disappointing lineup, and this is the only game I'm not sure about one way or the other.

Oh well in that case, i'd say get it. I had fun with it, even on the DS. it's a basic platformer with auto-aim(i think) energy balls as your primary weapon. You get a few new power ups throughout the game that let you do cool things and there are some gimmick based stages involving vehicles. But like i said at some points the difficulty is extremely aggravating. Sometimes the difficulty seems unfair and maybe glitch induced (camera/controls/etc). But difficulty is something that needs to be in more games. Basically, it's not the best game but it's pretty enjoyable.

Do you think the 3DS version will be worth $40?

If you've never played it before then it probably is (like you said), but I probably suggest it to someone who's already played through it

Well, if what you said is true and they changed/fixed things from the DS port, then go ahead and buy it. That's my 2 cents anyway. Maybe you should check out some gameplay videos. (Of the older versions since i doubt there's footage of the 3DS one)

I only have Street Fighter 4, and it's pretty good, but I'm starting to get bored. The main thing I do (and I think makes the game fun) is fight online. I would like a new game, and I'm particularly looking at Asphalt 4. Anyone heard anything good about it? Or any game that is good for the 3DS?

I've heard that the only games really for the 3DS are SSIV3D and Nintendogs + Cats. I've gotten both, and I love them both. Asphalt 3D is probably the third best game out there, but with the 3DS' lineup, that's really not saying much. It's your choice, but I will tell you this: I've heard it's the best racing game so far, but there are a ton of better games coming out in the next few months that I think are more worth saving your money for.

I got Rayman DS when it came out way back in 2004 and I'd have to say although it's the same game as Rayman 2, (which I have on the PC), the gameplay on the DS isn't as good as the original. But I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the game, it's one of my all time favourites along with Croc (which is of a similar style). I don't know about the 3DS version, but if you say it's been made from scratch FOR the 3DS, then I guess it's up to you, but if it was me, I'd buy it since I love Rayman.

While Larx's post could have just been said completely normally, he does have a point. However, this is what I've heard of Samurai Warriors Chronicles: It's a hack and slash game, and that's it. I love hack and slash games, but I've heard there's nothing distinctive in this one, and since I have others that satisfy me, I have no need to buy it. However, Thomas, if you've never tried one before, I suggest considering Samurai Warriors Chronicles. However, I would say it's imperative that you try it somewhere before dishing out 40 bucks on it.

I will try it one day. Theres probably a demo or something around town. Should I get Red Steel 2? It's been out for a while and I haven't played it or the 1st one yet.
