I was thinking why not do a project that involves the entire community in making 1 large undertaking (just a suggestion)? Like perhaps doing a remix of the entire soundtrack of a game - maybe have a few people partner/group up and take a few tracks which they will work on together - get enough people to do that and you could have the entire soundtrack redone with the communities name on it. It could be an interesting project, and together would be close to a sort of "album" of sorts. Also it'd be interesting to see everyone's different takes on the different songs.

Wow, that's completely different from what I had in mind. I was thinking like a community composition (An original composition done by the whole forum.) But, I like this too.

I've also thought a collaboration involving the entire community. I'm 100% in.

Well the only thing is, getting 8+ people to work on composing a single piece of music would be very very hard without people stepping on others feet in the process, so having the whole community working under a sort of "theme" that ties it together, but keeps it flexible enough to allow for people to take the piece their own way would make it a bit more feasible.

Well, others have done some in the past on another forum. (In fact, they've done 4, one of which I was apart of. ) And they all went smoothly. Here is an example: The Second Original Mario Paint Hangout Community Song! It's sory of hard explaining it, but I think you'd get the point. The only thing is, not every program that every one uses exports MIDIs, so some users would be let out unless he/she found a MIDI notation program. (I recommend Noteworthy if you don't want to pay money for Notation. But, torrents work well too. ) But, we won't really step into the original composition zone yet. A lot of work still has to be done here. (When I say work, I mean planning for this. xP) It's

Wow, I've been thinking of something like that too :-D I was just thinking of releasing a midi, so that people could use it and add more. It sounds great anyway!

Also, @ wherewolftherewolf, what soundtrack did you have in mind? I have just been thinking of it, I haven't started or anything. About one month before Black and white was released, I considered publishing the start of a fanmade Credits/Staff Roll theme on YT, and letting people use a Midi and continue the theme, posting a new video as a video response. Uhm.., I got the idea from a blog about webcomics, read it here: www.olafsolstrand.no/2010/03/17/100-ideas-in-100-days-idea-1-the-comics-tree-collab/The idea there can be used for music projects as well.. everyone could just post their version as a video response, and some guy could post a new video response to one of the videoresponses.. and so on xD I can tell you more about what I think tomorrow.. now I have to sleep, lol

I'd definitely be in if you were to start something like that.

Yea, I'd love to do this, It's just Garageband users can export nor make MIDIs. That makes around 3 members excluded from this project.

Maybe everyone uploads a video with only their own part (perhaps with the last two seconds from the previous part embedded). Once the first part is done playing, you select which way you'll go, and that video you chose contains the next part. Thus, GarageBand users can just export their part, and upload it, without the need for the next one to have the midi. ..there was some more I wanted to say, but I'm sitting here with my Android, and I forgot it, so.. good night ;D

Can you still import them though? Yup. It's my lead when I remix a song.

Well seeing as this is a pokemon remix community, I was thinking perhaps revisiting the soundtrack from the original games - red and blue.
